About This Event

A moving new film commissioned by the Hackney Society to bring to life eleven women from Hackney's past whose stories are featured in the Women from Hackney’s History books. Premiering on International Women’s Day, the film spans nearly three centuries, from 1670 to the mid-20th century, celebrating pioneers, reformers and trailblazers who helped shape the borough, This film is a tribute to the women of Hackney’s past, connecting their legacy to the women of its present and future.  The screening will be followed by a panel discussion between Barney Snow, Nina Sprigge, Sue Doe and actors from the film, followed by a general Q&A and an opportunity to buy copies of the books the film is based on. You can book and pay for your ticket by visiting: https://riocinema.org.uk/Rio.dll/WhatsOn?f=2236479 Tickets cost £5.
