About This Event
UrbanLens3 is a group of local artists who combine walking and photography in Hackney - seeing the everyday from a different perspective. For this series of walks we are partnering with Hackney Circle and Xenia and will hold a joint event showcasing the work made. You’ll photograph the urban landscape in a new and unusual way, using a phone or camera. Walking with a fun supportive group enhances general wellbeing for both mind and body - particularly during the winter months.
The walks are social occasions where sharing artistic techniques and knowledge about the local area often leads to lively and friendly conversations. We are running this series of walks in the daytime between November and February, ending with a celebration screening event of participants work at Shoreditch Town Hall in March 2025. This event has received funding from Cultural Hackney. This is walk 5 out of 5.
Accessibility Information
This event will mainly take place outdoors. Please wrap up warm and wear sensible clothing! This photowalk theme is Women of Stoke Newington. Routes can be adapted if you have mobility issues. Ideally, you will need access to a smartphone (doesn't have to be the latest phone) with a camera and be able to use WhatsApp. If you don't have a smartphone and would like to take part, please get in touch as we can arrange for you to borrow equipment so you don't miss out!
