About This Event

For nearly 150 years, the site to the east of Dalston Junction Station served the entertainment needs of a changing population in Hackney. Drawing on research and contributions from a number of local historians, as well as his own research on the area, Archivist Etienne Joseph will explain how land originally cleared to make way for a new railway station in Dalston was transformed into a circus, a theatre and a cinema space before evolving into dynamic music venues hosting international artists and supporting the development of music and youth culture in East London.
