About This Event

Local historian Laurie Elks chairs a panel discussion with Roland Walker and Alan May, two of the figures in the Dalston Peace Mural. Roland is the son of Ray & Anna Walker. Ray designed the mural and Anna co-painted the mural following Ray’s untimely death, with Mick Jones. Alan was a member of Chats Arkestra, who played at the 1983 Peace March celebrated by the mural. Together, they will decode the mural’s narrative and history; identifying the faces, themes and events depicted.

Arrive at 4pm to browse the collection of Ray Walker's: Dalston Peace Mural, recently donated to Hackney Archives. Panel discussion starts at 4:15pm.
