About This Event

Hackney Museum is looking for volunteers to help research content for a new display that identifies and tells the stories of these bombsites and the people affected. With opportunities for research, transcribing first hand accounts or street photography.

Volunteer Bombsite Researchers will be researching and bringing together data from different historical records, including:

● World War Two Bomb damage photographs held by Hackney Archives and Hackney Museum
● Lists of casualties
● First-person accounts of bombing incidents, including personal diaries
● Records on genealogical websites such as Ancestry.com

This information will be inputted into an existing detailed and organised spreadsheet. The data in the spreadsheet will then be used to create the final touch-screen digital interactive in Hackney Museum for visitors to use and learn more about their local area.
