Hackney Circle Community Quilt Celebration at PEER
Join artist Aya Haidar, PEER Gallery and Hackney Circle members to celebrate the Community Quilt project.
About This Event
Over the past few months, members of Hackney Circle have created a community quilt with Hackney-based artist Aya Haidar, in a series of collaborative, hands-on workshops facilitated by PEER Gallery.
To celebrate the completion of the quilt, Peer Gallery and Aya invite you to join them on Saturday 23 August from 2-4 pm for an afternoon of tea, cake, and conversation.
Taking inspiration from PEER’s 2025 exhibition programme exploring oral history, family, and disability Aya has worked with Hackney Circle members to produce a series of fabric works commemorating the voices and views of Hackney residents, weaving together community stories, handed-down skills, and cultural traditions.
