Black History Season Launch: CLR James Annual Lecture 'Made In Hackney'

This year's Black History Season is proud to launch with the annual CLR James annual lecture, hosted by former senior deputy head teacher, broadcaster, author, editor and Hackney Star winner Juliette Coley.
About This Event
Juliet Coley is a second-generation Windrush resident who grew up on Hackney's Pembury Estate in the 1970s. This period instilled in her a strong sense of community, and she remains close with friends from that time. Still a Hackney resident and youth advocate, Coley will share her story at an event hosted by music industry veteran Paulette Long OBE. The event's theme, "Standing Firm in Power and Pride," celebrates the contributions of Black people and looks toward a future of empowerment and unity.
