About This Event

The editor of Women from Hackney’s History volume 2 will lead a walk to the graves of some of the 13 women featured in the book and whose last resting place is Abney Park Cemetery. Find out about performers, salvationists, teachers, philanthropists, suffragists, an opera singer who was also a scientist, a magician and an early dentist.

Walks of Interest are moderately paced walks up 2 hours in duration and incorporate periods of standing.

Sessions must be booked in advance and we do not accept same-day bookings. Waiting lists will be created as if needed. Priority is given to Hackney residents or those registered to a Hackney based GP surgery.
