A witty, jazzy, and richly rewarding tale of high art and lowlifes, set in a gorgeously recreated '70s Massachusetts, Kelly Reichardt (First Cow, Certain Women) puts her own carefully-crafted spin on the heist movie with The Mastermind, starring a never-better Josh O'Connor. In another acclaimed turn from La Chimera and Challengers' leading man, O'Connor is JB Mooney, a listless suburban father with his eyes on some easy money and a newly-developed taste for stealing art. Pulling together a ragtag crew for a daring daylight raid on a local gallery, he has the perfect plan. Or so he thinks.
